Established by 1774 to make eau forte, huile de vitriol et couperose verte at Honfleur with Thomas Murry as director who was presumed to supply the technical expertise. 1775-77: failed attempts to produce sulphuric acid of acceptable quality. Problems with Murry led to case before the Parlement de Rouen in 1777. Murry left. By May 1778 had installed large lead chambers. Was making sulphuric acid and copperas in 1782. Sold in Aug 1791 to Chamberlain. No indication that they made nitric acid
