Family of Irish merchants who settled in Rouen in the early 18th century. Apart from commerce (especially textiles and coal) they were also involved in the manufacture of cotton textiles, pottery and chemicals.
1766: either he or his brother Robert was a partner in Brown, Garvey, Norris et Cie which proposed to manufacture chemicals.
By 1776: he and his brother formed a company with Holker fils and others to make fayence facon d'Angleterre.
1792: partnership with Jacques Chatel and A.D. Bunel to set up a sulphuric acid works at Lescure near Rouen.
Left France ca 1792 after his property was seized.
