1784: adjoint professeur de chimie, College de Pharmacie. On 11/11/80; he had been appointed by the committee of the College to replace Brongniart but they were acting outside their powers in doing so.
In 1787 his uncle, Rene Josse, was seigneur de Bois Berri and owner of the Manufacture (of cotton fabrics) de Meslay (Loir et Cher). His 1st wife was Anne Pierrette Hure, d of a marchand de bois. His 2nd wife was Elzabeth Rose de St Martin, d of a marchand de vin. He was probably, but not closely, related to Martin and PG Josse.
