By the time of his death (between1772 and 1776) he was probably making acids, a business continued by his widow (fl 8/80). She was not listed as an apothecary in 1777 but was by 1789.
1762: maître epicier. fl 1765; epicier, faubourg St Antoine. fl 70: described as marchand-epicier-apothicaire, rue des Cinq Diamans, selling, in particular, drogues pour les remedes de toutes sortes and chocolat, and making various types of glue. He had probably purchased the office of apothicaire des mousquetaires noirs between 1765 and 1770 which gave him the privilege of opening a pharmacy in Paris.
