The Site
Notes:
15/5/90: set up as a branch of the Javel works by Peeters, Leonard Alban and Nicolas Arnaud, a Lyonnais merchant [Cayez]; towards 1793 [Smith]. There is also disagreement about the end dates between the secondary sources.
By Jan 1793 Pierre Alban was probably directing the works. By 1797 he had returned to Paris. It was then directed by another Alban, probably Michel Alban, who said in 1836 that he had been running it for 40 years.
Following the resolution of the ownership of the Javel works in 1796/97 it was owned by Buffault frères.
1834: The works was sold to Claude Perret.
